There is more fear than harm at Istanbul airport. This Wednesday, May 8, a FedEx cargo plane had to land on the runway without its landing gear at the front. Approaching the runway, the pilot of a Boeing 767 flying from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport reported to the control tower that the nose landing gear was not deploying. Upon alarm, rescue and fire brigades were able to quickly take a position along the route to prevent it.
In images posted on social media, we see the Boeing planting its rear wheels on the asphalt and then scraping the nose of the plane onto the ground. An extremely risky maneuver that did not result in casualties. Immediately, several emergency trucks rushed to the runway to spray the plane with fire-fighting foam. The runway where the plane landed is temporarily closed to air traffic. The incident is part of a series of damage to Boeing aircraft. The group is currently under investigation.
