The executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reiterated her government’s complaint to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), considering that the country is a victim of “discrimination” in the allocation of special drawing rights issued by the financial organization to deal with the pandemic.

“Venezuela will continue to denounce in all spaces that we have been victims of discrimination due to the allocation of these special drawing rights, where our people are denied to have US $ 5,000 million assigned to our country”Rodríguez said during the 7th Forum of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The Venezuelan official pointed out that the reason for the IMF’s refusal to provide financial assistance to Venezuela is “the veto of the US Government,” and assured that there are “more than 450 unilateral coercive measures” over the country it represents.
