The reimbursement of expenses spread out up to five years for certain companies

The government will further extend, up to five years, the reimbursement period for the deferral of charges granted to the companies most affected by the health crisis, said on Monday the Minister Delegate in charge of Public Accounts Olivier Dussopt. “In the coming days, I will sign a decree which will allow (…) to go up to five years, therefore sixty months”, for the companies “most affected by the crisis, those which have been the subject of closures and for companies from overseas territories, ”the Minister announced on Sud radio.

50 billion social contribution deferrals in one year

Companies in these sectors (events, tourism, etc.) will be able to make a request to the tax administration, responsible for offering those who need them plans to clear their social debt, the ministry said. The government had already opened up the possibility for SMEs and very small businesses to extend up to thirty-six months, instead of six months in normal times, the reimbursement of the deferral of charges from which they benefited during the crisis.

Between March 2020 and March 2021, around 50 billion euros in deferral of social contributions had been granted to companies, of which around 60% were cleared at the end of August 2021, according to figures from the Social Security department cited in the last report of the committee for monitoring and evaluating business aid measures put in place during the health crisis.
