With 611 planes delivered and 507 orders in 2021, Airbus is raising its counters

A breath of fresh air. This is reflected in the figures unveiled this Monday by Airbus for the year 2021. In accordance with the objectives it had set for itself, and despite the strong impact of a health crisis that never ends on activity of airlines, the European aircraft manufacturer has exceeded 600 deliveries. It delivered exactly 611 planes (including 483 A320s, its best-seller) to 80 customers, increasing its production by 8% compared to 2020.

The sky is also clearing on the net orders side. These reached 507 aircraft, very far from the 268 of low water in 2020, but still far from the 768 of the very distant year 2019.

A boss confident in the future

Guillaume Faury, the boss of Airbus, nonetheless welcomes the “remarkable results” which “reflect the concentration and resilience of the Airbus teams, our customers and our suppliers. “He sees this as a testimony” of confidence in the sustainable growth of air transport beyond the Covid crisis. “

“Although uncertainties remain, we are on track to increase our production during the year 2022, in order to meet the requirements of our customers”, also predicts Guillaume Faury. “At the same time, we are preparing the future of aviation by transforming our industrial capacities and by implementing our roadmap for the decarbonisation of the aviation sector”, finally assures the leader of the manufacturer.
