How do you know if a financial investment is blacklisted?

The Internet has multiplied the opportunities for financial investments. But while some online offers have long proven their worth, many others are hit and miss at best, scams at worst. Because it is difficult to distinguish them, the authorities have set up regularly updated blacklists in order to blacklist platforms that do not comply with the legislation in force.

The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the policeman of the sector, maintains four lists which each target a specific area: binary options (speculation on the evolution of securities), crypto assets (digital assets), Forex (the foreign exchange market) and miscellaneous goods (investments in diamonds, wines and others). If the name of the company with which you plan to engage appears there, it is that it is the subject of a warning by the AMF or that it has usurped the identity of an actor regulated.

Regular updates

For its part, the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR) is responsible for establishing the blacklist of sites or entities offering loans, savings accounts, payment services or insurance contracts without be allowed to do so. And the harvest was particularly important at the end of 2021, as 371 new structures were added.

It will be understood: before signing any contract, the first instinct should be to consult these listings, gathered in a single interface on the common official portal of financial institutions: Abe-infoservice.fr. In addition, before committing yourself, check that the professional is registered in the mandatory files in force, namely, depending on his status, the Register of financial agents (Regafi), the Register of insurance organizations (Refassu) or the website Orias (body responsible for keeping the register of intermediaries in insurance, banking or crowdfunding).
