Spanish airports will have spaces to test Covid tourists who return to their destination

A total of 15 Spanish airports will have spaces dedicated to conducting diagnostic tests for Covid in the departure areas. Will be made to passengers who are in Spain and have to return to their countries of origin. Tourists entering Spain from another destination must provide the PCR test performed in the country of origin, as required by Health.

Aena, the manager of Spanish airports, announced this Friday the allocation of these spaces to locate test clinics at airports with the most traffic, which are those of Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Málaga, Alicante-Elche, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife South, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Palma.

One of the problems that many travelers encounter is finding a clinic where they can take a test before flying to their destination. The objective is to facilitate the return of passengers who are in Spain and need these tests at destination airports. In other words, they will not be used for people who land at Spanish airports. These will have to come with the test done.

To access one of these airports and take the test it will be necessary to have a boarding pass, since since March access is restricted only to passengers who are going to fly.

The establishments will have an area for conducting the test and waiting and isolation areas. In the event of a positive result, the health alert protocols will be activated established by the health authorities of the autonomous communities.

The service winners will be able to perform diagnostic tests for active infection (PDIA), PCR tests, rapid antibody tests, rapid antigen detection tests or high-performance serologies.
