The dollar in Venezuela was stable on Wednesday, according to DolarToday, amid the Venezuelan government’s announcement that it had recovered electricity service after an “onslaught.”

At the opening, the dollar stood at 4.82 digital bolivars in the informal market of Venezuela, a lower level of 1.86% compared to 4.91 the previous day, according to data from the portal DolarToday.

The Venezuelan government assured this Tuesday that it recovered “100% of the electrical service” in the southwestern part of the country, hours after denouncing an “attack” whose nature it did not clarify and that caused blackouts in the area.

Thanks to the work of the workforce of (the state company) Corpoelec, the electricity service in the southwestern region of the country was 100% recovered, after a new attack against the National Electric System”, the Sectoral Vice President of Public Works and Services, Néstor Reverol, wrote on Twitter.

Shortly before, the Ministry of Electric Power had assured that they were carrying out supervision and monitoring tasks to “restore 100% of the service in the southwestern region” after “a new attack on the national electricity system.”

However, he did not clarify what type of “attack” they were referring to or detail its effects.

Various users on social networks have reported failures since 1:00 p.m. local time (5:00 p.m. GMT) in areas of the states of Aragua, Barinas, Carabobo, Cojedes, Falcón, Lara, Portuguesa, Yaracuy, Táchira, Trujillo, Vargas and Zulia.
