“Lightyear”: The original battle between Buzz and Zurg is revealed in the new Pixar trailer

This Tuesday, in the midst of the nomination for the Oscars 2022, Pixar decided to break schemes and released a new preview of what will be “Lightyear”a film focused on the story of Andy’s popular toy in the “Toy Story” saga.

As is known, the story of this new film will not resume the adventures of the toys in the franchise, but will tell the origin of the space ranger that inspired Buzz Lightyear’s toy.

Under this premise, the new Pixar preview shows part of the original Buzz’s mission. As if that weren’t enough, it also introduces new characters like a robotic feline friend and an iconic figure like Zurg.

“Lightyear” is a film directed by Angus MacLane (“Finding Dory”) and the cast stars Chris Evans (‘Captain America’ in the Marvel Studios movies) as the voice of the protagonist Buzz.

The voice cast also includes Keke Palmer, Taika Waititi, Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Dale Soules, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

It should be noted that the film is scheduled to be released in June this year, so we will not have to wait long to see if the film marks Pixar’s triumphant return to the big screen after the successes of “Soul”, “Luca” and Turning Red.
