Ministry of Culture announces return of the “Outside Fest” with prominent local artists

Within the framework of the celebrations for its 10th anniversary, the Grand National Theater will present from Thursday, February 10 to March 31 -complying with all biosafety protocols- the “Outside Fest 2022″, outdoor music festival scheduled in person and free. The event begins with the participation of salsa singer Kate Candela.

Later on, the rock band Difonía, the cumbia group La Cachimba, the folkloric orchestra 8 Reyes, the pop figure Gala Brie, the reggae fusion collective Temple Sour and the hip hop revelation La Torita will perform.

The “Afuera Fest 2022″ party will begin on Thursday, February 10, with the joyful and romantic salsa of Kate Candelawho will have as a musical challenge the interpretation of “Habanera”, an aria from the opera Carmen by the French composer George Bizet.

To participate in this festival, days before each date, the GTN will hold a raffle on its social networks, so that the public can be part of this experience. A week later it will be the turn of Diphonia, alternative rock band made up of Charlie Parra del Riego, Ricardo Méndez, Devadip Chunga and Raúl Saba. The quartet will offer its followers songs such as “El hymn”, “Genesis”, “The mission”, “Believe in me”, “The storm”, and an unreleased version of the famous “Turkish March” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Cumbia will be present on Thursday the 24th with La Cachimba, a group made up of young people who try to transform the so-called psychedelic cumbia and merge it with Afro-Latin rhythms. The musical sensation of the Jungle will surprise with “The dance of the sugar fairy” from the ballet The Nutcracker of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovskyin addition to giving away their songs “Curandera”, “Enfermera”, “Macoñera” and “Lucero”.

Fans of folklore and patron saint festivities will have the pleasure of listening on March 9 to the orchestra 8 Kings of Cerro de Pascodelighting with huaynos, tunantadas and a unique performance of “Badinerie”, a secular instrumental work from the baroque period composed by the German Johann Sebastian Bach.

Pop will arrive at the terrace of the GTN on March 17 in the voice of Gabriela GastelumendiPeruvian-Brazilian artist better known as Gala Brie. She will present her hits, two albums of hers “Intensos instants” and “Inmortal”, and a unique performance of “Van pensiero”, a magical piece from the opera Nabucco by Giuseppe Verdia choir of Jewish slaves that at one time the Italians also assimilated as a hymn to foreign oppression.

The penultimate date will be held on March 23 with the fusion reggae group Temple Sour, made up of Joaquín Aramburú (vocals), Bruno Paiva (keyboardist), Mateo Ledgard, Lorenzo Tapia (bassists), Jordán Gambirazio (drums) and Jaime Pareja-Lecaros (guitar). They will make young people and adults dance with their hits “Verte asi”, “Chibola manyada” and “La poetatza”, including in their repertoire the first movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Symphony No. 40”.

The closure of Outside Fest 2022 is scheduled for March 31 with Anais Quispe, “La Torita”, one of the most powerful voices in urban music. She explores different themes and tries to raise awareness among teenagers through her singles “Chápala”, “Lánzame ese bate”, “Cerca de ti” and “Let her decide”. Her challenge will be to interpret the first movement of “La Primavera”, a piece that is part of The Four Seasons, a masterpiece by the Venetian Antony Vivaldi.
