Lights Awards 2021: See the announcement of the winners here

After a long campaign and weeks of waiting, the winners of the Lights Awards 2021 this Saturday March 12 at 8 pm through a video premiered on the official page of Facebook of El Comercio.

The award, which today reaches its 18th anniversary, highlights the best artists and productions in areas such as music, television, cinema, gastronomy, visual arts and letters.

This year we also added a new category, Podcast/Digital Program, also allowing us to honor creators who use new technologies to reach an ever-wider audience.

Thus, categories such as Best digital program in the cultural, sports and entertainment categories were included, as well as Best innovative production and new formats to highlight the figures in this emerging space. We also added our international touch, by adding Best Streaming Series from Latin America, where productions from Mexico, Chile and Argentina participated.

At the moment there is only one honoree revealed, and that is that the Lights Award for the trajectory was in the hands of the renowned actor, playwright and theater director Carlos Gassols. This trophy, the only one chosen by the organizers, recognizes the outstanding career of this artist in his almost 90 years on stage.

The Light Awards winners will be revealed on the Facebook page of El Comercio at 8 pm on Saturday, March 12, a video that you can also see in this same note. The list of winners will also appear in our print edition on Sunday, March 13.
