Álvaro Rod feels “pleased” to have sung with the Great Combo of Puerto Rico

Álvaro Rod was pleased to have shared the stage with the Gran Combo de Puerto Rico a week ago, not ruling out being able to work with them in the future. And it is the national singer-songwriter who would like to compose a song for the legendary Boricura orchestra, which will shortly launch a new musical production.

“I am very happy and excited for this incredible experience. It means a lot for my professional career to be at the National Stadium and sing for the first time with the ‘Universidad de la Salsa’. I will continue to do my best so that our country continues in the eyes of the world and who knows, someday compose for them”commented.

The national composer recalled the historic moment he experienced when he was invited on stage to sing “El aguacero” together with the members of the orchestra. At the end there was an emotional hug between the Peruvian artist and Rafael Ithier, maximum exponent and founder of the Puerto Rican group. This to the applause of the thousands of attendees who went to the National Stadium to see the salsa event last Saturday.

“I feel pleased to have shared the stage with the orchestra that is a salsa legend. I had the opportunity to greet them, share a few words and show them my admiration for your good music and impeccable career”said the artist.

Álvaro Rod, who promotes his latest hit “Let’s escape”, is a fundamental piece in today’s Peruvian salsa. He has composed songs such as “Ven y dime” for Orquesta Bembé and “Te vas a repentance” for Cielo Torres, both chosen as songs of the year, “Somos dos” with Farik Grippa, “No sé” by Amy Gutiérrez and the latest songs by Kate Candela and Los Barraza as “You chose to cheat on me” and “Par de Botellas”, respectively.
