“Doctor Strange 2”: Professor X and Captain Carter appear in new trailer for the film

Less than a week before its premiere on May 5, the new trailer for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” has finally confirmed the presence of Professor X – played by Patrick Stewart – in the film, ending weeks of speculation.

The return of the iconic character from the X-Men film saga had already been hinted at weeks ago, when a voice incredibly similar to Stewart’s had appeared off-screen in one of the trailers, but this new trailer removes all duas from the show the character’s hand on his distinctive yellow chair.

Previous information indicates that Professor Xavier would belong to the Illuminati, in the Marvel comics a secret cabal of heroes and some supervillains, including Doctor Strange himself, who controlled global events. In the movie, Strange looks like he’s going to face this for unspecified crimes.

It was not the only rumor confirmed by the trailer, as it also showed a brief glimpse of who undoubtedly is Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), a variant of Peggy Carter who replaced Steve Rogers in the supersoldier project and who appeared for the first time. time in the Disney+ anthology “What If…”

It should be noted that these are more than likely not the biggest surprises that await us in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, since Marvel Studios has a tendency to save its best twists and turns for when the tape hits theaters. . And with the premise that Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) will visit parallel universes in this film, the possibilities are truly limitless.

Expectations are also high for the film, as it will not only set the course for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” but also introduce a new heroine in America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez.
