Gonzalo Torres talks with Carlos Carlín about his program “Cuenta La Historia” with El Comercio | VIDEO

The actor Gonzalo Torres presents the new web series “Tell the story” from El Comercio. In this sense, he spoke with Carlos Carlín about what his time in the Historical Archive of the newspaper has meant and some of the stories that they will tell in the episodes.

During the “#CarlinEnLaRed” space, Torres revealed that he likes to look for traces of Peru’s past. “The story that is written in El Comercio has to do with politics, social, police and international. But it also has to do with our daily life story expressed, for example, in advertisements”remember.

Each of the chapters in “Cuenta La Historia” narrates a key episode of daily life that is portrayed in El Comercio in a more profound way. “You have a piece of news that runs for several editions; So, in a way, it’s like going back to that time.”he adds.

Regarding the way in which Gonzalo Torres chose the stories of each of the eight episodes of the first season of “Cuenta La Historia”, the actor revealed that it was based on the selection made by the collaborator Héctor López Martínez who took out a volume for each decade of the 20th century. “From there I made the selection of 20 stories that could give. Based on that, I started to find out which of these stories had merit to be told in an audiovisual way”he pointed out.

Likewise, Torres stressed the commendable work of El Comercio to preserve its Historical Archive. In addition, he added the importance of digitizing it to preserve history through the diary. “It is a monumental task and little by little it will be open to all Peruvians so that they can investigate our history. (The Archive) is a very interesting space and the volumes are very fragile. That is why digitization is important. There are editions that are not even touched that are from the 19th century. You have to be careful and respect those editions”ended.
