Dave Chappelle has decided to come to the aid of the victims of the Buffalo massacre. The comedian donated the proceeds of a special show organized last Sunday in the city where the terrible tragedy took place.
On May 14, an 18-year-old man shot dead ten people and injured three others in a city supermarket. Investigators believe it was a racist crime.
Provide recognition
To hear Kevin Sweene, spokesperson for the Shea’s Performing Arts Center, the 3,000-seat hall where Dave Chappelle sold out, the artist wanted to pay tribute to the victims and their families. “He said, and I’m paraphrasing, ‘I came to Buffalo to bring recognition to the victims and the families,'” he said in a statement relayed by Deadline.
The actor directly announced to the public his intention to donate the proceeds of his show as revealed on Twitter people who attended. However, Dave Chappelle has not yet made an official announcement regarding this donation and its terms.
