Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe confirm that they will play in Lima in 2023

Two of the world’s top hard rock bands arrive in Peru. Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe confirm presentation in Lima, for February 28, 2023, at the National Stadium. Both bands arrive, for the first time in Peru, with The World Tour, continuing the success of their stadium tour in the United States.

With more than 100 million albums sold and more than 5 billion streams on digital platforms each, sold-out stadiums around the world, and countless hits spanning the decades, Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe are part of the pantheon of rock’n’roll. n’ roll for more than 4 decades.

Both bands closed the 80s with their most celebrated works: Def Leppard with Hysteria in 1987 and Mötley Crüe with Dr. Feelgood from 1989, which include songs that topped the charts in those years and are still valid today thanks to series like Cobra Kai and Stranger Things.

Def Leppard was founded in 1976 in England, but it was not until 1981 that, accompanied by the legendary producer Mutt Lange, they had an unstoppable rise with hits like “Bringin’ on the heartbreak”, “Photograph”, “Rock of ages”, “ Pour some sugar on me” and “Hysteria”.

Tragedy took them by surprise when, in 1984, drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car accident. The other members were patient with Allen’s recovery and the resilience of the band was rewarded with the album ‘Hysteria’, at the time one of the best-selling albums in rock history and which is for many the “‘Thriller’ of the hard rock”, due to the number of successful singles that came from it, such as in the famous album of the king of pop.

Joe Elliott, Phil Collen, Rick Savage, Vivian Campbell and Rick Allen have maintained their lineup since the mid-’90s, where they were among the few bands to continue to be successful in the alternative rock era.

The story of Mötley Crüe is known to many, both from their biographical bestseller “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band” and its film adaptation made by Jeff Tremaine (of Jackass fame) for Netflix on 2019, abbreviated ‘The Dirt’.

The clearest example of the glamor and decadence of Los Angeles in the decade of the 80s, the excesses and scandals of the band were as powerful as the successes they reaped: “Shout at the devil”, “Looks that kill”, “Girls , Girls, Girls”, “Dr. Feelgood”, “Same Ol’ Situation”, “Home sweet home”, among many more. Its members, Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee are already icons of popular culture, each one has their own autobiography (each considered a best-seller), as well as appearances on TV shows, collaborations with other bands , etc.

The movie “The Dirt” also served to connect them with a new generation, even having popular rapper Machine Gun Kelly play Lee. Thanks to the breaking of the contract that the band signed in 2015, to never play live again, we will be able to enjoy the aforementioned songs, as well as Lee playing on top of the public on his already iconic drum-roller coaster and Sixx bouncing fire from below.

Tickets on sale from this October 25 by Wong and Metro Teleticket.
