Why Shakira canceled her presentation at the opening of Qatar 2022

On Sunday, November 20, Qatar 2022 begins with the opening ceremony of the biggest sporting event. The show is usually led by the best artists in the world and whose songs become hits. However, for this edition, some of the stars have said no. The third of them is Shakira, after Dua Lipa and Rod Stewart.

The first to say no to the organization was the British singer. After various speculations about her participation, Dua Lipa released a statement through her Instagram in which she refuses to visit the country until they fulfill their promise to respect Human Rights.

Meanwhile, the British musician Rod Stewart revealed that he rejected a million-dollar sum of money to play at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. “I rejected it. It’s not okay to go. And the Iranians should be out for supplying Russia with weapons,” he said. But then why did Shakira also refuse to be present at the opening show? Here we tell you.
