Alejandra Egoavil, Marcello Rivera, Gisela Ponce de León, Gonzalo Torres and more artists present “La Mariscala”

La Sonora, in co-production with the Municipal Theater of Lima and with the support of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, presents the musical “La Mariscala” until November 27, a pop opera that takes us to learn about the life of Francisca Zubiaga, a woman who defied all the canons of society at the dawn of the new republic of Peru.

This historical musical, led by a great cast of live actors and musicians, narrates the struggle in search of the ideals and dreams of Francisca, and other notable women of our nation.

“Discovering and telling the story of La Mariscala is an invitation to pull the end of a skein that reveals to us a universe of Peruvians, those with their own name and the anonymous, who continue to forge Peru and their own desires through effort and courage. . Not only those who faced times of war, but all those who struggle to this day to find the cracks to change a system that continues to deny them equal opportunities. But even so, they advance, and we hand in hand with them ”, indicated Gonzalo Polar, producer, composer and arranger.

Synopsis

In the year 1824, the 21-year-old Francisca Zubiaga (Alejandra Egoavil) from Cusco discovers that marrying the patriot, Cusco, and mestizo military man, Agustín Gamarra (Marcello Rivera), is the way to achieve her ambitions for power and glory. something denied for the women of her time.

Her father, the Spanish Antonio Zubiaga (Gonzalo Torres) and a Peru infested with warlords, do everything possible to stop her. Her inspiration to continue fighting intersects with that of Flora Tristán (Gisela Ponce de León), a Peruvian-French woman who comes from Europe looking for answers to her troubled life.

The general direction is in charge of Mateo Chiarella and Lucho Tuesta who will stage this original script by Gonzalo Polar, María Elena Arce, Claudia Núñez and Chino Sabogal, with songs with lyrics and music by Gonzalo Polar and Chino Sabogal, and the musical direction by Alessandra Rodríguez Bezada.

This staging marks the first musical theater production in La Sonora, after almost 20 years of presence on the music scene. La Sonora is directed by the producer, composer and arranger Gonzalo Polar, with extensive experience working with music and sound production for audiovisual, theatrical and advertising content.

More than 20 artists on stage, with performances by Alejandra Egoavil, Marcello Rivera, Gisela Ponce de León, Gonzalo Torres, Ricardo Velásquez, Fico Wiese, Pedro Ibáñez, Miluska Eskenazi, Dante del Aguila, Stephany Iriarte, Manu Rodríguez, Claudia Rua, Fernando Tateishi, Adelaida Mañuico, Elihú Leyva and Juan Miguel Ruiz, who give life to this pop opera that premiered on Thursday, November 3 at the Municipal Theater of Lima (Jirón Ica 377, Lima) for a short season.

The performances are Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Sunday at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays there is a double performance at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Tickets on sale on the Joinnus platform.
