Christine McVie: Lead singer Fleetwood Mac dead at 79

Singer Christine McVieknown internationally for being the lead singer of the rock band Fleetwood Mac, died on the morning of this Wednesday, November 30 at the age of 79, her family reported through a Facebook post.

He passed away peacefully after a brief illness. He was in the company of his family. In addition, the members of the British group also wrote a message on their official fanpage regretting their departure: “There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one of a kind, special and talented beyond measure. ”.

The statement continued: “She was the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We were very lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we deeply appreciate Christine and are grateful for the wonderful memories we have. She will be greatly missed”.

McVie was a member of the band from 1970 to 1999, managing, together with the members of Fleetwood Mac, to sell more than 100 million records worldwide and thus becoming one of the most successful groups in history. Within his discography, “Rumours”, released in 1977, was one of the best-selling albums in history, with several of its multi-platinum tracks.

During her 30-year career, she has given voice to the band’s most emblematic songs, such as “Go Your Own Way”, “Everywhere” and “Dreams”, the latter having recently resurfaced as a viral audio on TikTok.

McVie’s death comes just two years after the departure of one of the band’s historic founders, Peter Green, who passed away at the age of 73.
