Through a statement on social networks, the Cultural Center of the Universidad del Pacífico (UP) announced that as of today, December 7, it is obliged to cancel all its cultural activities “until further notice”, due to the ” dire political situation in the country.

The center, which this week finished the functions of the play “Cinderella”, clarified that it will soon contact the people who bought their tickets in order to proceed with the return of their money.

Coup

This news adds to the various cancellations of events and cultural centers who have chosen to cease their functions after the news of the coup, unconstitutional closure of Congress and curfew announced by the dictator Pedro Castillo around 12:00 pm

The measures will be imposed as of today from 10 pm to 4 am, but it is unknown if there will be an extension that prevents cultural activities from being carried out normally. At the moment, the situation is uncertain and for this reason the cancellations of institutions such as the UP and ENSAD do not have a precise date for the reopening of their doors.
