The original doll of ET was auctioned for 2.6 million dollars in the United States

The original animatronic doll from the film “ET the alien”, the classic Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi movie was auctioned over the weekend for $2.6 million, the sale’s organizers said.

The flagship lot of this two-day auction, run by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), was presented along with 1,300 other movie props, from Robert De Niro’s boxing gloves in “Bull savage”, to the hammer of “Thor”.

ET has been one of the most famous characters in pop culture and science fiction since the release of the hit movie in 1982.

Almost everything about the brown doll is articulated: his beady eyes, his long neck and, of course, his glowing finger that glows in the movie before saying his cult phrase “ET calls home”.

A model of the alien was also auctioned for $125,000, while one of the motorcycles used in the final scene sold for $115,000.

Other emblematic objects of the seventh art were offered and reached high bids, such as the stick with which Charlton Heston parted the Red Sea in two in “The Ten Commandments”‘ (448 thousand dollars) and Harry Potter’s Nimbus 2000 broom (128 thousand Dollars).
