The interpreter recognized as “the princess of Andean pop”, is the youngest Peruvian artist to join the international folkloric competition of this edition. She will seek to win the coveted Silver Gull after facing representatives from Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Panama in Quinta Vergara.
“Warmisitay (little woman, in Quechua) will represent the Andean woman in Quinta Vergara, this really is a dream. Thank you for supporting me day by day, you are my engine and impulse. Thanks to all the warmisitas that motivate me day by day. I promise to do my best and sing with all my heart”, Warthon commented on this future raid in a press release.
“It is a tribute to the Andean woman and to women in general because in her lyrics she says: ‘You are pure magic, free as the wind, goddess of the Andes, among the stars you shine like no one else.’ That is to say, that the woman is beautiful just as she is, she does not need anything or anyone. This song revalues the Andean woman and shows her as is”, he finished.
