“Sisters”, the play by the prestigious French playwright and director Pascal Rambert, which was considered among the best premieres of 2022, returns for a new season this time at the PUCP Cultural Center Theater. It is an intense drama about the unexpected encounter that marks the lives of two sisters, played by Lucia Caravedo and Denise Arregui

Lucía Caravedo won the El Oficio Crítico jury award for Best Actress for her performance in “Hermanas” and was also nominated for the Premios Luces as Best Theater Actress of 2022.

In “Sisters” the characters bear the same name as the actresses. Lucía is a social worker who provides humanitarian aid for refugees and victims of the war in Syria and Libya. Denise is a media journalist who writes about banal issues. The death of their mother is the trigger for a physical and emotional encounter of unsuspected levels. Denise bursts into Lucía’s work, shortly before she is to start a conference on a humanitarian emergency, to reproach her for not telling her that her mother was about to die after a long illness.

It’s a tough story, about a huge conflict between two sisters. A moment of reproach and love. Something for life between two beings from the same body but deeply different. Joined. And yet opposites. A fight to the death. Body to body.

The Peruvian version of “Hermanas” has been the first premiere of this work in South America. “Sisters” has been released in 9 countries and has been directed by Pascal Rambert himself in 6 different languages ​​with actresses from each country: France, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Greece, Estonia, Hong Kong, Burkina Faso.
