Ana de Armas: “I never imagined that I would make action movies”

Ana de Armas she never imagined that she would make action movies, but since she became a “Bond girl” in 2021 she has not let go of the genre and now she is a dangerous woman in “Ghosted”. “These papers are necessary in hollywoodresponded to EFE in a meeting with the media.

“I never imagined that I would be doing action movies but here I am, happy to play these roles. I think audiences really want to see women do this and they like it.”he assured.

De Armas stars alongside Chris Evans Dexter Fletcher’s latest film, which premiered this weekend on Apple TV and is titled the Anglo-Saxon term used colloquially to describe the act of ending any type of communication with a person without prior notice.

In the film, she plays Sadie, a prestigious CIA agent with little motivation in her career who, between missions, will have a meeting with Cole (Evans), a charming, romantic and goofy man who will hit it off right away.

After a successful date full of lies, Sadie will no longer respond to Cole’s messages and this leads him to chase her to London, where the agent is in the middle of a risky mission.

From then on, both will have to fight to stay alive and escape from torturers, arms dealers and other dangers, while fighting against indisputable sexual tension.

“The beauty of the film is that it has a touch of surprise. The first 30 minutes are of a romantic movie and from there it takes a great turn to this action plot and I think that is what makes it unique and refreshing”Evans mentioned.

The 41-year-old actor is one of the most iconic performers in today’s action movies, mainly for having played the Captain America in the movies of Marvel.

“I look more like Cole in real life than Captain America, I hardly had to act with him,” the actor joked.

For his part, De Armas has been forging his way in this genre in films such as “Blade Runner 2049″ or “The Gray Man” and will soon star in the long-awaited film derived from the universe of “John Wick” called “Ballerina”.

“I know I’m not going to make action movies all my life, it’s obvious, but as long as I like what I do, it’s okay to keep doing it,” he explained.

CHEMISTRY AND ATTRACTIVE

“Ghosted” is the third film that Evans and De Armas have participated in and the first they have produced together, although the first to arrive on the project written by screenwriters Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Chris Mckenna was Evans.

“Ana is one of those actresses that you want to have on your team, what could we not like about her? She is one of those people who on set can realize that they are movie stars, the camera loves them, their instinct It’s on point.” Evans said of his partner.

The connection and chemistry that exists between the two actors made Fletcher’s work as a director easier, who commented that after directing the musical film “Rocketman”, based on the life of Elton Johnhe was looking to embark on a different project that would challenge him.

“They are very fans of each other’s work, Ana was very happy to see Chris being a goofball and Chris to see her kick ass. There is that mutual admiration that is incredible, I just had to put a little electricity and sexual tension between them, because they are also both very beautiful people, so it was very easy “Fletcher mentioned to EFE.

The film interchanges the typical stereotypes of the romantic woman and the emotionally unwell man in a natural way, while weaving a love story in unlikely and funny environments.

“I never tried to be correct about it, she is just a winner in her world and he is a very simple man who lives a secure life. For me it was just about uniting both worlds and if they were a man or a woman it was irrelevant ”, the director pointed out.
