Gene Simmons, lead singer of Kiss, ventures as a producer with Gary Hamilton

Gene Simmonsrock band vocalist Kiss, announced Monday the launch of a production house with Arclight Films president Gary Hamilton, called Simmons/Hamilton Productions.

“Throughout my long career in the music business I have met all kinds of characters, but Gary Hamilton is the real deal! He is an extraordinary film executive and a great collaborator, ”Simmons said Monday in a statement collected by local media.

The announcement announced that the company has planned to produce 25 action, suspense and author films so far, in a period of five years.

The first project they will undertake is “Deep Water” by Finnish director Renny Harlin, known for films like “Driven” (2001) or “Cutthroat Island” (1995), and production will begin at the end of this year.

The film tells the story of a diverse group of airplane passengers who have to team up and put their differences aside after the plane’s pilot is forced to make an emergency landing in shark-infested waters.

“I’m excited and excited to launch ‘Deep Water’ as our first project together with action wizard Renny Harlin at the helm,” Simmons continued.

Harlin, for his part, assured that the greatest successes of his career had been achieved by portraying sharks or airplanes on the big screen, and that he was ready to make the public live “the most terrifying plane trip of his life” with this film. .

This isn’t the first time the “I Was Made for Lovin’ You” singer and bassist has been involved in film projects. Simmons had already been a producer of films like “Armed Response” (2017), or series like “Drake & Josh” (2005) and “My Dad The Rockstar” (2003).

He also acted in movies like “Why Him?” (2016), starring Bryan Cranston and James Franco, and “Extract” (2009), alongside Jason Bateman.
