Less and less to go for the expected premiere of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” next June 9. In addition to all the action in the movie, many Peruvian fans are waiting to see the scenes that were filmed in national provinces such as Cusco and San Martín.
In a new preview, which contains behind-the-scenes images with the protagonist Anthony Ramos and director Steven Caple Jr., you can see new scenes from the filming of the film in Machu Picchu and the Peruvian Amazon.
“In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts we have new characters, new robots that have not been seen before in these movies… We filmed in Cusco, a true parade, the people there gave their all. And then, filming in the Amazon jungle, dealing with the elements, that mystical thing that Peru has.”, Ramos noted in the video.
“In introducing the Maximals in this film we thought the amazingly beautiful wonders of Peru would really capture the characters. We filmed on top of Machu Picchu, where filming had never been done before. We were just thinking, wow; one, we are here; and two, how did they do this? it’s crazy”, added director Steven Caple Jr.
Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, “The Rise of the Beasts” serves as a sequel to “Bumblebee” (2018) as well as a prequel to the rest of the “Transformers” saga.
The story is set in 1994, where Noah Diaz (Ramos), an electronics-savvy ex-soldier, and archaeologist Elena Wallace (Fishback) are involved in a battle between the Autobots and three other factions: the Maximals, Predacons, and Tercons.
The film was recorded in 2021 on locations in the departments of Cusco and San Martín in Peru, the New York suburb of Brooklyn in the United States, and in a studio in Canada. Among the Peruvian locations that we will be able to see on the big screen are the Plaza Mayor of Cusco, Machu Picchu and Las cascades of La Unión, among others.
