Thanks to her outstanding film debut, she has achieved very good comments and has even been considered the revelation of the seventh art, in the same way as the Mexican Yalitza Aparicio, who was the protagonist of the acclaimed film “Roma”.

Luz Pinedo obtained one of the leading roles in this national film after being selected in a massive casting that took place in the city of Pucallpa, and was attended by 1,800 people. Until that moment, Pinedo had not had any contact with film acting, but her spontaneity in the tests and the workshop she received from her managed to convince her that the role was painted for her.

In “La Pampa”, Luz plays Reyna, a young girl captured by a human trafficking mafia, who has taken her to a mining camp in the Amazon jungle. Gravely ill, she is helped to escape from her and searches for her father, who is said to still be alive, though his whereabouts are uncertain. She will have to overcome multiple threats and serious attacks in the fulfillment of her delicate plan.

“In Pucallpa, many cases of disappearance of girls and women are reported, and in some cases they do not return home. Insecurity is in all parts of Peru and not only in the jungle, so we have to be alert to this social problem”, she expressed.

In real life, the young Pucallpina works as a children’s entertainer. Her friends who knew of her talent in her acting bombarded her WhatsApp with the massive call for the casting film that made the film “La Pampa” in her homeland.

“That day I was a little nervous and it was the first time I had faced something like this, so big. That day Dorian Fernández directed me and I felt that he was a filmmaker who transmitted confidence and security to me ”.

Despite not having previous experience, Luz was able to pass each filter until she reached the group of finalists who followed an acting workshop, where she stood out for her naturalness and was able to be selected for the leading role. “Playing the role of Reyna is a great responsibility, not only because of the magnitude of what the character experiences and feels in fiction, but also because of what we need to do as a society to change this.”

“La Pampa” will be released this June 29 in all movie theaters in our country. “Everyone in Pucallpa is very anxious for the movie to be released. Friends write to me and even people I don’t even know. They are very proud of my work and hope that I will raise the name of my region”.
