Blackpink’s “Boombayah” video surpasses 1.6 billion views on YouTube

The music video for the song “Boombayah” by the well-known female K-Pop band blackpinksurpassed this Tuesday the 1,600 million visits in Youtubeaccording to the band’s representation agency, YG Entertainment, said today.

“Boombayah,” the South Korean group’s 2016 debut song, reached the milestone at 6:50 a.m. South Korea (21:50 Monday GMT), six years and eleven months after the quartet released their first EP. “Square One”.

Formed by four members –Jisoo, Jenny, rose and smooth-, Blackpink is the musical band with the most followers on the YouTube video platform in the world, close to 90 million subscribers and already has two other songs that have surpassed the barrier of 1,600 million views: “Ddu-du Ddu- du” and “Kill This Love.”

The South Korean band released “Born Pink”, their second studio album, in September, and began a world tour in October, in addition to participating last April at the Coachella music festival, something they had already done in 2019, but this time as headliner.

Let’s remember that in 2020 the group collaborated with Selena Gomez for the song “Ice Cream”, written by Ariana Grande as the second single from their first Korean studio album titled The Album.
