Hollywood actors’ strike affected the premiere of “The Haunted Mansion” in the United States

The preview of “The Haunted Mansion” (“The Haunted Mansion”), from the studios Disneytook over the traditional deserted red carpet of stars, who did not make their usual presentation to promote this first screening since Hollywood actors went on strike over income claims.

The event on Saturday night at Disneyland Park in the state of California (west) had much less fanfare than initially expected, with the absence of the main actors: LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito and Jamie Lee Curtis. The director, Justin Simien, was present and maintained that he supported the cast but also missed them “terribly” in the instance.

Members of the SAG-AFTRA actors’ union joined members of the WGA writers’ union in calling for a move unprecedented in Hollywood in more than 60 years.

They all protest against the conditions imposed by the big movie studios. “I am a director, screenwriter and artist in this industry. And it’s very, very difficult.”Simien told AFP at the premiere.

“I absolutely support them. And I’m fighting myself. I would have liked to party with them here”added the filmmaker.

Hollywood actors officially went on strike at midnight Thursday after talks with the studios stalled.

Like the scriptwriters, the actors are demanding an increase in their compensation, which they consider halfway with the deepening of the era of streaming on the Internet. They also want guarantees regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI), to prevent it from generating scripts or cloning their voice and image in productions.
