Blackpink gets one of their video clips to become the most viewed K-pop on YouTube

The music video for the song “Ddu-du Ddu-du” by the well-known female K-Pop band blackpinkhas exceeded 2.1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first song in this genre to achieve such a record.

As reported on Monday by the band’s representation agency, YG Entertainment, “Ddu-du Ddu-du”, which was part of the 2018 EP “Square Up”, reached this milestone at 5 pm on Sunday in South Korea. South (8:00 GMT), some five years and one month after its launch.

The song has also garnered more than 600 million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform.

Formed by four members -Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa-, Blackpink is also the musical band with the most followers on the YouTube video platform in the world, close to 90.3 million subscribers.

The South Korean group released “Born Pink”, their second studio album, in September 2022, and began a world tour in October, in addition to participating last April at the Coachella music festival, something they had already done in 2019, but this time as a headliner.
