“Blue Beetle”: song “Demolition” by Los Saicos will be present in a new DC movie

What is ‘Blue Beetle’ about?

This film tells the story of Jaime Reyes (Xono Maridueña), who discovered an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the blue beetle, which he chooses to fight against evil forces.

What happened to Los Saicos?

Los Saicos was a rock band formed in 1964 in Lince and was one of the most successful groups of its time, as they had a visceral and aggressive style, but at the same time fun. His best-known singles are ‘Demolition’, ‘Fugitive from Alcatraz’, ‘Cementerio’, ‘The Burial of the Cats’, ‘Ana’ and ‘Intensely’. After two years of having recorded 6 albums, in 1966 they separated.

Currently, only two of the four members are alive: Erwin Flores (vocals and guitar of Los Saicos) and César ‘Papi Saico’ Castrillón (vocals and bass). They both live in the United States. While Rolando ‘El Chino’ Carpio (guitarist) died in 2005 and Francisco ‘Pancho’ Guevara (drummer) died in 2015.
