He 27th Lima Film Festivalorganized by the Cultural Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, will come to an end on August 18, the date on which the winner of the Best Fiction Feature Film award will be announced, where four Peruvian films compete for the coveted prize of 5000 Dollars.
In addition to talks, master classes, dialogues with filmmakers, and workshops, more than 130 feature films and short films are presented in different movie theaters in Lima. Four of them compete for the jury prize for Best Film (Fiction Competition).
The films are: “Diógenes” (Leonardo Barbuy La Torre), “Historias de shipibos” (Omar Forero), “Yana-Wara” (Óscar and Tito Catacora) and “The erection of Toribio Bardelli” (Adrián Saba).
The jury for this year’s fiction competition is made up of the director and producer Ivan Fund (Argentina), the director, screenwriter and producer Fernanda Valdez (Mexico), the teacher and artistic director of the Viña del Mar International Film Festival Claudio Pereira (Chile), actress Melania Urbina (Peru) and producer María Carlota Bruno (Brazil).
It should be noted that the $5,000 prize will be awarded by the BBVA Foundation as part of the sponsorship that the institution grants the film festival each year.
