Rebeca Escribens, Katia Condos, Almendra Gomelsky and Gianella Neyra, dressed in feathers and sequins, share their most intimate stories

They are friends, partners, accomplices, confidants. They support each other, feed each other and enhance each other every time they are together. Rebeca EscribnsKatia Condos, Almendra Gomelsky and Gianella Neyra They embark on a new, cathartic and exciting musical adventure: “Ironing the Spite.” A cabaret. Four women. Four life stories nuanced with songs that iron the soul and unwrinkle the heart.

The idea comes from the restless Gianella, who likes to look for that type of little job. When she told us that she wanted to do a musical that she had seen in Colombia, we traveled to see the show earlier this year. It’s super successful. For eight years, Juan Carlos Mazo has successfully presented it with Colombian actresses. We have adapted it to our style, with our own stories of love and heartbreak. It also has drama and comedy. It has a little bit of all the necessary ingredients to encourage people to come see us.”, Gomelsky details.

Music contains all the emotions that a person can experience: joy, sadness, deception, deep love. And this work is called, ‘Ironing the spite’ because it contains typical songs from a time when women only cried, begged and begged for love. A whole movement from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Well-known songs, like ‘Behind my window’, ‘Everyone looks at me’, He lied to me’. Strong themes of pain. It’s a musical show. And the beautiful thing is how and where those stories told by us take place: in a cabaret, dressed in feathers and sequins.″, highlights Escribens.

Directed by Colombian playwright Juan Carlos Mazo, this is the second theatrical show that the four national artists bring to life, but it is the first of international magnitude.

And the beautiful thing is that we always come up with new things to have fun and enjoy each one from its own space. We did not invent this show. It is a franchise that has been resoundingly successful for about eight years in Colombia. What you are going to hear are our stories, real, told from the soul and with the heart”, emphasizes Rebeca.

It is a project that requires a lot of our abilities because we need to sing and dance decently. We have been studying singing for a few months. Pepe Corzo is in the artistic direction and Diego Dibós in the musical direction. We have very capable people behind us who are guiding us. So we can’t stop giving our best for this show. Each song has a choreography. Some songs we sing separately, others among the four of us. There is a very nice process, in which you learn a lot of things”, clarifies Condos.

They have been doing entertainment and having fun together for over ten years. This adventure came to television in 2017, with “Women without filter”, a conversation and interview program. The route continued successfully through social networks such as YouTube. Then it came to the tables.

“When we got together, we never imagined we would get this far. Everything that has been happening with us, with the brand, with what has ended up being Women of the PM, exceeds our expectations,” Neyra remarks.

Produced by Tondero, “Planchando el despecho” runs from October 5 to November 11 at the Dome of the Arts. Tickets are on sale at Teleticket.
