Eva Ayllon She participated in a conversation with Peruvian students from Harvard University, held in the Starr Auditorium of this prestigious university, where she was received by Carla Chirinos, the Consul General of Peru in that city.
During this meeting, Ayllón shared his experiences and artistic career both nationally and internationally, highlighting the challenges, opportunities and anecdotes of his career.
The activity was moderated by the Master’s student at the Harvard School of Education, Fiorella Fachini, and the guest professor specializing in Afro-Peruvian culture, Luis Reyes.
It should be noted that the performer began her tour of the United States on October 13 and, to date, she has already given 8 presentations, including the show at the Berklee Performance Center, also in Boston.
“We start in Seattle, Washington and will end in Los Angeles, California, on November 5,” announced Eva, who as a surprise for her audience, during her performance at The Town Hall in New York, had Daniela Darcourt as a special guest. Both were applauded by their audience.
Eva Ayllón will prepare to receive an important delegation of Cuban musicians, with whom she will play in Lima. The artist will appear at the Canout Theater to offer a show From Lima to Havana! Celebrating Rumbas, between Waltzes, Sones and Boleros. Tickets are on sale at Teleticket.
The virtuoso double bassist Jorge Reyes —former member of the emblematic group Irakere—, the pianist Jorge Aragón —musical director of Silvio Rodríguez—, the trombonist Eduardo Sandoval, the drummer Oliver Valdés and the percussionist Abdel González are the musicians who will give a concert together with Ayllón in the Canout.
“Like every musician of Latin origin, I have a commitment to Cuba and its music. […] In my mind and heart I always had the desire to visit the island. This happened in 2013, when Jorge Reyes invited me to sing. […] I promised the teacher to invite him to Peru […]”declared the winner of the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence.
Finally, Eva Ayllón added that together with the Cuban performers they will pay tribute to Creole and Afro-Cuban music. “Imagine: waltzes in boleros and celebrations and landaus with Congo and Yoruba feeling, via Santiago, Matanzas and Havana. It will be a magical evening,” said the former jury of “La Voz Perú.”
