In tribute to the memory of Pedro Suárez-Vértizwho died on the morning of Thursday, December 28 at the age of 54, Latina Televisión will broadcast this Saturday, December 30, the interview that the musician gave to the journalist Jaime Bayly in 2009.
As it is remembered, Bayly hosted a talk show called “El Francotirador”, where he had a frequent visit from the singer.
For this reason, Latina will broadcast the interview that Suárez-Vértiz gave to the journalist in 2009, where he spoke about life, death, his legacy, and the way in which the singer wanted to leave this world.
“At what age are you going to die?” Bayly asked him. “I don’t know, but let it be quick and painless, I do want to die before everyone else.”Suárez-Vértiz responded.
In that same conversation, the journalist recognized his talent in Pedro Suárez-Vértiz, describing him as the Peruvian Bod Dylan or Andrés Calamaro.
“I have always said that in Peru there is no musician who has the talent of Pedro and in Latin America there is not much”Bayly said.
Pedro Suárez-Vértiz’s interview with Jaime Bayly will be broadcast this Saturday, December 30 at 10:30 pm (Peruvian time) on Latina Televisión, channel 2 in Lima.
Through his YouTube channel, journalist Jaime Bayly broke down when remembering the interviews he conducted with Pedro Suárez-Vértiz, whom he considered a brother.
“Since I remember the interviews that Pedrito gave me, I want to remember that on one occasion…”he commented crying. “Forgive me for getting emotional, but it’s as if a brother had died for me.”he added.
