Ana Bárbara, Olga Tañón and Don Omar will be recognized at the Lo Nuestro Award

The singers Ana Bárbara and Olga Tañón, and the reggaeton performer Don Omar, will receive special recognitions at the next ceremony of the Lo Nuestro AwardThe Hispanic network TelevisaUnivision, organizers of the gala, reported this Wednesday.

During the ceremony, which will be held on February 22 in Miami (USA), the Mexican singer-songwriter Ana Bárbara will receive the Lo Nuestro Award for Lifetime Achievement, in recognition of a career spanning three decades and with which she has left “a “indelible mark as one of the most prominent female voices within the genre of regional Mexican music,” according to a statement from the network.

For her part, Puerto Rican Olga Tañón, the most awarded in the history of these awards, will be honored with the Lo Nuestro Award for Excellence for her notable contribution to Latin music.

Likewise, the “Global Icon” award will go to Don Omar, one of the recognizable pioneers of reggaeton and leader of the urban movement, and who is “a constant source of inspiration for countless new artists, thanks to his visionary contributions and influence.” in the industry,” the statement elaborated.

The Premio Lo Nuestro, by popular vote, has been celebrated uninterruptedly since 1989 and honors the most outstanding exponents of Latin music.

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami and will be broadcast live on Univision and in Mexico on Las Estrellas.

Among the 180 nominees of the next edition, distributed in 38 categories, the Colombian Maluma starts as favorites, with 14 mentions, followed by the exponents of Mexican music Peso Pluma and Grupo Frontera, with 13 and 10 recognitions respectively, as well as Feid and Karol G, who obtained 9 nominations each.
