“Despicable Me 4”: Trailer brings back the Minions and introduces Baby Gru

After the success of “Minions: The Origin of Gru,” which grossed more than $1 billion at the box office, the animated saga returns with “Despicable Me 4”. A new chapter of the franchise that will hit theaters on July 5 and in which the protagonist will have to face not only the new villains and the craziness of the Minions, but also the challenge of being a father.

Gru (voiced by Oscar nominee Steve Carrell and Florentino Fernández in the Spanish dubbed version), Lucy (voiced by Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig and Patricia Conde in the Spanish dubbed version) and the Girls Margo, Edith and Agnes welcome a new member to the family: Gru Junior, a baby who, as the trailer shows, is determined to be an ordeal for his father.

The preview also states that Gru will have to face this time his new nemesis Maxime Le Mal (voiced by Will Ferrell) and his sophisticated and malevolent girlfriend Valentina (voiced by Sofia Vergara), which will force the family having to flee.

“Despicable Me 4,” the new installment of the saga that has grossed more than $4.65 billion at the box office, is directed by Minions co-creator and Oscar nominee Chris Renaud (Despicable Me 2, Pets), and produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, as well as Brett Hoffman (executive producer of Super Mario Bros.: The Movie and Minions: Rise of Gru).

The film is co-directed by Patrick Delage (animation director of Sing! 2 and Pets 2) and the script is the work of Mike White, two-time Emmy winner and creator of the series The White Lotus, and Ken Daurio, the veteran screenwriter of all the previous installments of Despicable Me.
