New “Predator” movie announced: Who will direct it? Does it already have a name?

A new film from the successful franchise “Predator” is being developed with director Dan Trachtenberg and screenwriter Patrick Aison, known for their work on “Prey” (2022), a prequel to the extraterrestrial hunter.

The new film will be titled Badlandswill not be a sequel to Prey, since it will be consolidated as a different story carried out in the future, the American media reported. The Hollywood Reporter.

Badlandswhich has been worked on by Trachtenberg and Aison, will have a female protagonist like Pray. No other details of the story are known, but it is expected that the film will explore new territories in the cinematic universe of Predator.

Likewise, it emerged that 20th Century Studios plans to create a television series about Predator with Trachtenberg in charge of the stories.

“Predator” is a franchise that premiered in 1987 and initially starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers and Jesse Ventura. The story tells the crusade of a fearsome extraterrestrial hunter who collects human corpses as trophies.

The franchise had three sequels Predator 2, Predators of 2010 and The Predator of 2018. Also in 2023, it premiered Prey, which is considered a prequel.
