The 10th International Children’s Film Festival opens in Lima: How to participate?

The British cultural center inaugurated the tenth edition of the International Festival of Cinema for Children in Lima, where films will be shown and workshops will be held aimed at children and adolescents in the country.

Thus, the event that began on Wednesday, February 14 and ends on Sunday, February 18, aims to offer learning and entertainment spaces for the little ones in the home.

Likewise, it should be noted that entry to the festival is free, but some workshops have a cost, which can be found in the event program.

The screenings of films, short films, as well as the holding of workshops will be held at the headquarters of the Cultural Británico, as well as in the branches of the same institution, the exact addresses can be verified in the Festival program.

During the festival, 13 short films made in Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, France and Peru will be screened as part of a film competition. These tell stories of children and adolescents who experienced various adventures.

Therefore, after the presentation of the audiovisual pieces, it will be the children attending the event and prepared in the workshops, who will choose the winning short film.

Peruvian and international feature films will also be screened, such as the native Ainbo and Pirufilmed in the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon, as well as the British Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Paddington 1 and 2, Gulliver’s Travels among others.

At another time of the Festival, specialized artistic workshops will also be presented, such as film and plastic arts; as well as the webinar Fundamentals of cinematographic language (Friday, February 16 at 7:30 pm), led by Gonzalo Otero, film director and screenwriter.

In this space, we will discuss the essential elements of cinematographic language, from framing and composition to editing, sound and music.

Four free workshops will be held on the art of plasticine and recycled paper, where children will have the opportunity to recreate their favorite characters from the movies. Monsters Inc, Wallace and Gromit and Harry Potter. Pre-registration is required to take part in the workshops.
