They are more than guest artists: the protagonists of Viña del Mar 2024

Over the years, the artists invited to the International Song Festival of Viña del Mar which, certainly, is focused on musical competitions, were gaining increasing prominence until becoming one of the main attractions.

Twelve renowned representatives of music in the world will perform at the LXIII edition of the most important musical event in Chile and one of the most relevant in Latin America, which will run from February 25 to March 1, at the Quinta Vergara, the traditional setting located inside the garden city.

The list of invited artists includes: Alejandro Sanz (Spain), Manuel Turizo (Colombia), Andrea Bocelli (Italy), Maná (Mexico), Men at Work (Australia), Mora (Puerto Rico), Anitta (Brazil), Miranda ! and María Becerra (Argentina), Los Bunkers and Young Cister (Chile), as well as the Argentine singer Trueno. The latter entered to replace the Mexican Featherweight, who a few days ago canceled his participation for personal reasons, which until now are unknown. The urban artist also canceled his Latin American tour. In Peru he was scheduled to appear on March 2, at the National Stadium.

Without a doubt, one of the most anticipated shows of this Viñamarina edition is that of the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli. The tenor will arrive accompanied by his son, Matteo, along with a large orchestra with which he will perform his greatest hits.

With more than 90 million records sold, the Italian artist will take the stage at Quinta Vergara for the first time to open the second night (Monday, February 26). According to the official Puntoticket site, tickets for that day are sold out.

On the other hand, Alejandro Sanz will be in charge of opening the first night of the festival. The Spanish singer, winner of 25 Latin Grammys and 4 Grammys, will be at the Quinta Vergara for the fifth time and will seal his return to that stage after eight years of absence.

While Maná will return this Tuesday, February 27, after canceling its presentation last year due to health problems of its vocalist, Fher Olvera.

This will also be the first time for Anitta. The Brazilian singer will take the imposing stage on the fourth night of the event alongside the Puerto Rican, Mora, and the comedian, Lucho Miranda.

Likewise, Los Bunkers will be in charge of opening the fifth date of the festival. With this performance, the band will achieve its third presentation in the contest, after its participation in 2007 and 2012.

Bringing representative artists is, without a doubt, the biggest cost incurred by festival organizers. According to various publications, Luis Miguel is the one who, so far, has been crowned the most expensive, with one million dollars (plus platinum seagull) in Viña del Mar 2012. And almost the same sum would have been obtained by Marc Anthony for his show in the 2019 edition.

Guaranteed laughter

And as is the tradition of the musical event, humor will have a relevant space. It will be performed by Chilean comedians Alison Mandel, Javiera Contador, Luis Slimming, Luis Miranda, Sergio Freire and Álex Ortiz.
