Attention, movie buffs! ‘Carnival: The Festival between the Flesh and the Spirit’ will be presented for free from March 1 to 3 at the Sala Robles Godoy

The film ‘Carnival: The Festival between the Flesh and the Spirit’, the first Peruvian documentary that revives the history, tradition and evolution of the Cajamarca’s Carnivalwill have three special performances with free admission that will take place on March 1, 2 and 3 in the Sala Armando Robles Godoy of the culture Ministry.

With these presentations, the film directed by José Alberto Osorio and Gabriel Tejada, begins its journey through an alternative circuit that includes screenings in Arequipa, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Puno and Cusco.

The film proposes a historical journey through the festival, highlighting its main components such as music, gastronomy, patrols and troupes, and the characters that give life to this cultural manifestation so deeply rooted in the community.

Made through the Indio Pishgo Cultural Association, this film is also the result of an in-depth investigation carried out by directors José Alberto Osorio and Gabriel Tejada on the most emblematic traditional festival of Cajamarca.

It is worth mentioning that this documentary was released with unprecedented success before the carnival celebrations in Cajamarca where it was filmed. Tickets were sold out in all its screenings, the public welcomed the film with a massive attendance, filling the cinema with joy and emotion.

Now it will be screened in only three performances that will have the presence of the directors and that will take place on Friday, March 1st at two times at 6 and 8 pm, and on Saturday the 2nd and Sunday the 3rd at 5 and 7 pm. The traditional Cajamarca celebration will be relived on the big screen in the Armando Robles Godoy Room.
