Oscars 2024: Bad Bunny heads the list of presenters of the gala

The Puerto Rican reggaeton player Bad Bunny will present any of the awards or promptly present a segment of the 96th edition of the Oscarscheduled for March 10, the Hollywood Academy announced this Thursday.

Benito Martínez Ocasio, as the artist’s full name says, will thus join a large cast of movie stars among which this year will include actors and actresses Chris Hemsworth, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate McKinnon, Rita Moreno , Catherine O’Hara and Octavia Spencer.

The Oscar organization, which will once again have comedian Jimmy Kimmel as master of ceremonies for the fourth consecutive year, had revealed days ago that celebrities such as Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’ or, Al Pacino or Zendaya will take the stage.

However, it was not reported what role each one will play or what award they will present during the gala.

On the other hand, the Hollywood Academy announced this week that the five songs nominated in the category of best original song will be performed in this new edition of the Oscars.

Specifically, two songs from the ‘Barbie’ soundtrack -‘I’m Just Ken’, by Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson, and ‘What Was I Made For?’, by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell-; ‘The Fire Inside’, performed by Becky G for the film ‘Flamin’ Hot’; ‘It Never Went Away’, by Jon Batiste for his documentary ‘American Symphony’; and ‘Wahzhazhe’, by Scott George and native Osage singers for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’.

‘Oppenheimer’, by Christopher Nolan, leads the nominations for the 96th edition of the Oscars with 13 nominations, followed by ‘Poor Things’, by Yorgos Lanthimos, with 11, and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ ‘, by Martin Scorsese, with 10.

The 2024 Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theater in Hollwyood (Los Angeles, USA) starting at 4:00 p.m. local time (00:00 GMT on Monday).
