Kevin Spacey returns to the cinema: He will give life to ‘The Devil’ in an Italian thriller

American actor Kevin Spacey will return to movie screens with the film “Contract” (The Contract), by Italian director Massimo Paolucci, where he will play the role of “the Devil.”

Thus, after overcoming the accusations of sexual assault against him and being acquitted of the same charges in London, the former protagonist of “House of Cards”will participate in the project that would be established as a psychological thriller.

Likewise, the actor will share roles with his colleagues Eric Roberts and Vincent Spano in the production made by TM Entertainment, a company of Italian origin.

The character that Spacey will play is known as “The devil”a sort of John Milton in “The devil’s lawyer”, where the evil entity Satan takes the identity of a lawyer.

According to Massimiliano Caroletti and Sandro Lazzarini, both producers of the audiovisual project, They had to negotiate and convince the interpreter to participate in their project for eight months.

The first scenes of the Italian film have been recorded since December of last year, but the release date is not yet known.

Likewise, the actor starred in another independent thriller genre production called “Peter Five Eight”, by filmmaker Rebecca de Mornay, which will be released on March 22, in the United States.

As recalled, Kevin Spacey was acquitted of all charges of sexual assault in July 2023.After being released from the accusations against him, the actor declared: ““I am enormously grateful to the jury for taking the time to carefully examine the evidence and facts before reaching their decision.”
