Oscar 2024: Wes Anderson recognizes Owen Wilson’s support after winning his first Oscar

Filmmaker Wes Anderson got his first Oscar award at the 96th Academy Awards in Hollywood. After winning the most important award in the film industry, the American director thanked his friend and collaborator Owen Wilson.

The director, known for his work on “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Moonrise Kingdom,” took home his first Academy Award in the Best Live Action Short Film category for “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.” .

Inspired by the story of Roald Dahl, the film stars Benedict Cumberbatch and is available on Netflix, after the streaming giant bought the rights to Dahl’s entire catalog of children’s books.

Although Wes Anderson was not present at the 2024 Oscars ceremony, he expressed his gratitude for the statuette through a statement published by Netflix on its social networks.

“If I could have been there, I (along with Steven Rales) would have said ‘Thank you’ to: Roald’s family. Dahl, the Netflix team, Benedict and Ralph and Ben Kingsley and Dev and Richard and Bob and Adam and Jeremy and John and Jim and Rich and Jim and Polly and more,” he noted in his statement.
