Luis Fonsi and Joy Huerta team up for the main song of “Capitán Avispa”

The Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and the Mexican Joy Huerta, from the duo Jesse & Joy, join their voices in the song ‘Mi Amor’, soundtrack of the animated film ‘Capitán Avispa’, written and produced by the Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra and which will be released on April 4 in Santo Domingo.

The song, which tells the story of what unconditional love means, as well as its respective video, will be available on all digital platforms starting this Friday, the production reported in a statement.

Both artists are part of the cast of the film, since Luis Fonsi is ‘Captain Wasp’ and Joy Huerta voices Honey Bee.

The film also features the participation of Colombian Juanes (‘Sargento Picadura’) and Amelia Vega (‘Polybia Néctar’).

Likewise, with the Colombian actress Karen Martínez, the Dominicans José Guillermo Cortines, Adalgisa Pantaleón, Roger Zayas, Bianca García, Héctor Aníbal and Juan Luis Guerra himself, among others, according to a statement from the production.

‘Captain Wasp’ will premiere on April 4 in all theaters in the Dominican Republic and on April 11 in Puerto Rico and then debut in theaters in the United States and Latin America, during the months of April and May.

The film – inspired by the song ‘Las Avispas’, by Juan Luis Guerra – recreates a Caribbean superhero who fights for good and is a dream that the artist “has cherished for 12 years.”

In 2019, the Dominican author, performer and composer announced that he was going to enter the world of cinema and, some time later, it was announced that he would do so with the production of an animated film.
