Marcelo Oxenford talks about his life in Peru, the theater and his daughter Juliana: “90% of everything he says is not true”

He was born in Buenos Aires in 1947, but has spent most of his life in Peru. At 34 years old he arrived in our country as a sales manager for a soft drink brand with the purpose of staying only two years; However, his life surprised him with new work and personal projects, and he never again contemplated the idea of ​​leaving.

“Whenever they ask me if I love Peru more than Argentina, I answer that Argentina is my mother, and Peru is my wife, my daughter and my grandson. They are loves that cannot be compared. I love them the same and different at the same time“, clarifies Marcelo Oxenford.

“I stayed because of the people, who are spectacular”, he assures. “In Argentina he worked as a master of ceremony and model, because he was attractive when he was young. He was not an actor, here I got involved with acting, by chance. Then, I separated from my first wife. In that circumstance, separated, I began a relationship with Yvonne. That was 36 years ago Now I am also Peruvian, but in football I am purely Argentine”, he warns.

Oxenford Borton and Frayssinet Gaviria were close friends before they became a couple. When they met, they were both in the “process of separation,” says the actor. Her from her first husband, Ricardo Combi, and him, from the Argentine journalist Liliana Tuja.

“We dated for a year as friends, and in the meantime, Yvonne introduced me to a friend because she didn’t want to see me alone. We were very active, we went out in groups, with Pepe Chipola, Anita Martínez, Fernando de Soria. We were not looking to fall in love, but one day the spark was lit, and after 36 years we are still together: 29 of cohabitation and seven of married, and with a daughter, Lucía.”, he emphasizes.

In addition to Lucía, Marcelo has four children from his first engagement: María Lorena, María Eugenia, Juan Manuel and María Juliana. With the latter the link is distant. A few weeks ago, the journalist expressed: “I don’t have a relationship with him because it is a decision that I have made.”.

“I don’t want to touch on that topic because it is very thorny. Juliana was sent to speak, and she has the right to do so. I’m just telling you that she is very wrong because 90% of everything she says is not true. I get along perfectly with my other three children from my first marriage. Let’s say that the only dissident is Juliana. I tried (to get closer), but she didn’t want to.”clarifies Oxenford.

A life acting

The 76-year-old artist has been in our country for more than four decades. In 1985 he debuted acting in “The house opposite”. She was also part of the popular soap operas and series: ““María Emilia, dear”“Sunflowers for Lucía”, “María Rosa, find me a wife”, “At the bottom there is room”, “This is life”, “1000 Trades”, among others.

“In total there are more than 40 productions, in addition to plays. I was lucky enough to work on ‘Theater from the Theater’ with Ricky Tosso and Christian Andrade, who is a very good friend of mine. I led an eventful life as an actor, but a happy one. I always tell my acting students that television makes you popular, but theater really makes you an actor. Being popular is nice, staying popular is difficult, but the most difficult thing is retiring with dignity”, he says after reflecting on his artistic future.

“I know I’m at an age where I can’t go to Hollywood or be a leading man. In Yvonne’s case it is different, they call her more and more. She is endless, she has rope for a while (laughs). She is sick of art, she is in the novel, in school…, she has been awarded many times. Of every two awards that I have, she has ten. I know I’m a good actor, but she’s a top actress. We have worked together many times, in January of this year we took ‘Open Couple’ to the United States. We were in seven states, with full houses, and very good reviews. A year before we had already brought the same show to that country“, sentence.

“The comedy of the year”

Temporarily away from the small screen, Marcelo Oxenford is preparing to return to the theater as director of “The Comedy of the Year,” a play that will run on Saturdays, April 6, 13, 20 and 27, at 8 p.m. m, at the Jade Theater, in Lince.

In this theatrical installment, the following actors perform: Pedro Olórtegui, Franco Iza, Daniel Menacho, Gaizka Pasalodos, Paula Misha, Celeste Mori and Macarena García.

“I am in a calm stage and a lot of learning, because one always has something to learn. My life has been good because I am an honest guy. I don’t have a house in Miami or a yacht in Santa María, but I have a stable situation, and I am lucky to be able to say that my four oldest children are perfectly positioned economically, socially and romantically. And Lucía is planning to be one. I’m sure she will be the fifth link. I also have a wonderful partner. I am very happy”, he emphasizes.
