Timothée Chalamet will be the protagonist of “A Complete Unknown”, the biographical film of the legendary singer Bob Dylan, which will be played by the 28-year-old young actor in a role for which he has been preparing for years.
“I haven’t stopped preparing for this role, which has been one of the greatest gifts for me,” Chalamet told Variety. It has been “a wonderful experience” for the “Dune” and “Wonka” actor, a film in which he shows his singing skills and with which director James Mangold decides to give him a musical voice in “A Complete Unknown.”
Mangold, director of “Indiana Jones and the Doom Dial,” is one of Lucasfilm’s trusted filmmakers. He was introduced as the new boss of “Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi” at a celebration of the franchise in London.
Regarding the film starring Chalamet, Mangold recognized a story that goes through “an incredible time in American culture.” “I’m talking about the story of the young 19-year-old Bob Dylan who arrives in New York with 2 dollars in his pocket and becomes a global sensation in three years, being welcomed for the first time and as part of the folk music family in NY. At a certain point, as the star rises, it surpasses them,” the director told Collider.
