“Beetlejuice” marks its return with a trailer starring Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder

Actresses Jenna Ortega and Winona Ryder star in the first preview of the new film “Beetlejuice 2”. After three and a half decades, actor Michael Keaton returns to give life to his iconic character in the sequel to the film, directed by Tim Burton.

Through its official YouTube channel, Warner Bros. presented the first official trailer for the dark comedy film, where Keaton plays the remembered ghost. This film will expand the universe created by Burton in 1988.

At the beginning of the trailer you can hear a children’s choir singing “Banana Boat” from the first “Beetlejuice” movie (1988), while Jenna Ortega makes her appearance riding a bicycle on the streets of her neighborhood.

Later, Ortega appears with his mother at a mass that grandmother ‘Delia Deetz’ also attends. Another scene shows Astrid going down to the basement of her house and discovering the magical model where the ghost Beetlejuice lives.

This model opens a portal that frees Keaton’s character from his former friend Lydia Deetz. “Beetlejuice is back,” the ghost pronounces.

Along with Michael Keaton, Winona yder and Catherine O’Hará will reprise their original roles, while new talents such as Justin Theroux and Jenna Ortega are added, the latter giving life to ‘Astrid’, the daughter of Lydia, Ryder’s character.

“Beetlejuice 2” is a new fantasy film by Tim Burton, written by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The music is by Danny Elfman and the photography is by Haris Zambarloukos. The new film is scheduled to premiere on September 6, 2024.
