Gaby Espino: What did you say about Christian Meier and Jason Day? Why did you support Alessia in the Miss Universe?

Gaby Espino (Caracas, 1977) was not born or lived in Peru, but maintains a deep emotional bond with his land and its people. Their connection dates back to her television debut as Dalina on the Venezuelan version of the famous Peruvian children’s show “Nbeluz” and was strengthened by the endearing friendships she cultivated over the years. Actors Christian Meier and Jason Day, as well as Miss Peru Universe 2022, Alessia Rovegno, top this list.

“I remember the ‘Nubeluz’ stage as a great school, it was a great start for me, I learned too many things. She was practically a child [tenía 18 años] when this whole beautiful story that lasted three years began“, comments the actress, visibly excited, during her time as a guest at the 2024 Platino Xcaret Awards.

In 1995, after the death of Mónica Santa María and the resignation of other Dalinas, the most famous cloud in Latin America moved to Venezuela to continue its journey in co-production with the Televen network, then with RCTV. For which an exact replica of the scenery, the games and the costumes of the dalinas and gólmodis had to be made. General producer Luis Carrizales Stoll and part of the Peruvian production team traveled to Venezuelan lands to direct the project.

“I shared with the entire Peruvian production team, but I did not have the opportunity to meet any of Dalina. I have a Peruvian heart and deep gratitude for your country. Also, I love their food, it’s my favorite.“, agrees Gaby, who plans to visit Peru soon thanks to an alliance she has with a well-known Peruvian brand of women’s sportswear. “We already have three collections together, we have become great friends”, he assures.

Espino Rugero has been on stage for almost three decades. His career spans more than thirty soap operas, series and films, some of them with Peruvian actors, such as the feature film “My Brother’s Woman” (2005) with Christian Meier” and the series “Jugar con fuego” (2019) with Jason Day.

“They have been colleagues who became great friends. I remember them with great affection“Details the actress, who also maintains a close friendship with Alessia Rovegno, to whom at Miss Universe 2022 she did not hesitate to give her emotional support. Through her social networks she wrote: “You are going to win. You are the most beautiful”, causing the angry reaction of her compatriots who did not like that she supported the Peruvian representative and not the Venezuelan one.

“I know Alessia, she is a great friend. She seems to me to be an incredible, talented, beautiful girl, and what better way to support Peru in the Miss Universe, a very special country for me, which has given me a lot,” she remarks.

Gaby Espino is part of the cast of actors in the third installment of “The Key Game,” a series broadcast on the ViX and Amazon Prime Video platforms. She is currently evaluating two acting proposals. Hollywood is not part of her priority interests. Her priority, she assures, are her children.

“I am in a full moment, of happiness, of having that joy of waking up every day, of doing something that I am passionate about and that makes me happy. Every morning I wake up with thousands of hopes and goals. I have many dreams in terms of personal projects, but the most important thing for me is to raise my children in the best way and for them to grow up as good people. If something came out in Hollywood, I would receive it with all the gratitude in the world, but it is not my main goal.”, he emphasizes.
