Emilia and Milo J are among the artists most nominated for the Gardel Awards

Artists of the Argentine urban scene such as EmilyMilo J and Lali Espósito appear on the list of nominees for the Gardel Awards, an award that recognizes the most important musical artists in the country, which was announced this Tuesday.

The singer from Morón, province of Buenos Aires, can make history at 17 years old, as he has up to fifteen nominations for album, recording or new artist.

His project with the famous producer Bizarrap known as ‘In sleeping without Madrid’ has accumulated more than 500 million listens on the Spotify platform.

This, added to the release of his album ‘111’ and his collaboration on singles with other famous artists such as Nicki Nicole, have made him one of the emerging names on the Argentine scene and throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

Pop performer Emilia Mernes is next in terms of the number of nominations with twelve, followed by Lali Espósito.

This year, the native of Entre Ríos presented ‘.mp3’, her first studio album that spent several weeks among the most listened to in Spanish music. The list also includes other big names in Argentine music such as Fito Páez or Diego Torres.

The ceremony organized by the Argentine Chamber of Phonogram and Videogram Producers (CAPIF) owes its name to the famous tango singer and composer Carlos Gardel.

The ‘Zorzal Criollo’ also personifies the most important award of the evening, the ‘Gardel de Oro’, which is awarded to the most important artist of the year and which has been given to musicians such as Sandro, Mercedes Sosa, León Gieco, Charly García or Gustavo Cerati.

The rapper Trueno was the winner in the last 2023 edition, which together with the victory of his partner Wos the previous year confirmed the urban movement as the fashionable genre in Argentina. The event will be held on May 28 at the Movistar Arena in the city of Buenos Aires.
