Olivia Rodrigo cancels shows in Manchester due to failures in the new stadium

The new Co-op Live macro stadium in Manchester (northern England), the largest indoor entertainment venue in the United Kingdom, which has not yet been inaugurated, has already suffered several cancellations in several of its planned concerts due to technical failures, such as the performance of Olivia Rodrigo.

The stadium, valued at 365 million pounds (426 million euros), had already postponed what was to have been its opening show for the third time this Wednesday just an hour before rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie confirmed that it had detected a technical problem during the sound test.

In the case of Rodrigo, the American artist, singer and actress had to play on Friday and this Saturday as part of her world tour, ‘Guts’, although those concerts have also been postponed until another date to be determined.

Rodrigo stated that the fact of not being able to play in the new stadium due to “the continuous technical problems related to the venue” makes him feel “very disappointed.”

“I’ve had a great time in Europe so far and I’m so disappointed that I won’t be able to play in Manchester due to the ongoing technical issues related to the venue,” noted the singer on her Instagram account.

“We are doing everything possible to reschedule the show,” assured the artist, who indicated that fans who have already purchased their ticket can “keep it while waiting for more information or request a refund at the point of sale.”

Rodrigo, winner of three Grammy Awards, has already taken her world tour to the United States last March and April, and more recently she has played in Dublin. The singer is expected to play in London, at the O2 stadium, on May 14, 15, 17 and 18.
